Frequently asked questions
Does automatic irrigation use more water than hand watering?
As a rule it uses less. A well-tuned system waters each zone only as much as needed and at the hours of lowest evaporation, avoiding the overwatering typical of hand watering. In the Algarve climate, that efficiency shows on the water bill.
Can automatic irrigation be added to an existing garden?
Yes. An irrigation system can be fitted to an established garden, routing lines around the existing beds and lawn. It is one of the highest-impact upgrades for a garden that struggles in summer.
